Class is no longer in session...
From January 27 to May 4, 2020, this course introduced 11 students to experimental computation.
Note: these summaries are written at the end of each semester by Mindy Seu. Different sections of this class were taught by Atif Akin and Jacob Rivkin. This class had five multi-week projects and weekly exercises. Projects included: (1) Portfolio, HTML/CSS/jQuery, with two additional check-ins in the middle and end of the semester, (2) Pick 10, collection of ten images using HTML/CSS and an introduction to Flexbox and media queries, (3) Maxims, collection of 10 phrases that used HTML/CSS and an introduction to JavaScript and jQuery, (4) Generative Poster, an introduction to p5.js, and (5) Mutual Aid, a project sprint micro-site in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.

These were the youngest students I've ever taught, ranging from second to third years. I had never taught p5.js before, so I felt grateful for the robust resources online, especially those created by Nika Simovich and Dan Shiffman. After Spring Break, we shifted to online classes due to the COVID outbreak. This was difficult because some students had technical insecurities (poor wifi, old machines) and all students were understandably stressed about the situation.
